Question 1:

We kindly ask you to clarify what is meant by “equivalent” in the following requirement:

  • 6.4. Rear parking sensors and front camera or equivalent

Question:
What systems are considered equivalent?
Would front and rear parking sensors without cameras be considered an equivalent system?

Answer 1:

For the purpose of requirement 6.4, an “equivalent system” shall be understood as any technical solution that ensures safe vehicle maneuvering and provides adequate driver assistance in confined spaces, particularly under conditions of reduced visibility.

Equivalent systems may include, but are not limited to:

  • a combination of parking sensors and cameras,
  • camera-based systems (e.g. front, rear, or 360° camera systems),
  • advanced driver assistance systems for parking and maneuvering.

A system consisting solely of front and rear parking sensors, without any visual support (such as a camera or similar system), will not be considered fully equivalent, unless the tenderer demonstrates that such a solution provides the same level of safety and functionality as the required system.
